Interview with Lucas Happensack of ABISHUA (old one off of myspace)

1)how many bands you been in?
Currently I am in on band, Abishua. I have been asked to join the band Engraved Darkness for drumming starting later this month.
2)what bands influence you to make music?
Bands like Wolves In The Throne Room, old Cradle of Filth, Xasthur, Hecate Enthroned, Graveworm, and many more really. A lot of Symphonic Black Metal and Ambient/Atmospheric Black Metal are key components to my writing style.
3)how long have you been making music for?
About 8 or 9 months.
4)have you ever done gigs with any of your bands?
Not yet, in the future yes, hope to do many and do world tours if possible.
5) Is their a future of you being in the band STRINGS OF DISTORTED DOOM ??? ;)
I do not know, if invited I will.
6)I know you are a avid reader, what have you been reading lately?
Lately I have been reading many old Grimoire's and stuff by a writer by the name of Konstantinos, a very intelligent individual, also much philosophy (as always)
7)What instruments do you play?
Drums, guitar, keyboard, and the skin flute (vocals)

8)How does the recording process go for you?
Could be better if I were educated in that field of technology.
10)what do you write lyrically about?
Umm, many things to be honest, from the Universe to Poetry to Satanism, Paganism, Nihilism, Existentialism, Nature, Depression, and Romanticism as well.
11)What kind of drum kit do you have???
I have a PDP by DW 7 piece kit, 3 rack toms, 2 floor toms, 4 crash, 2 splash, 2 chinas, a ride and high hat of course and I would like to get Axis Longboard AL - 2 pedals equipped with velocity hammers
12)How has life been treating you in 2010 and what is your
long term goals in this life?
Life is hard at the moment due to insufficient funds, can't go anywhere or do anything. No jobs anywhere, I am from Ohio which is currently the 4th highest unemployed state.
Life long goals? Umm, I really only wish really to be in my band Abishua and tour the world and or become a great Philosopher and teach many.
13)any underground bands that impress you today, and
what do you think of todays metal scene?
Many bands impress me, too many to name.
Today's metal scene in my opinion is really nothing but trends, (cough cough Deathcore) and not enough people find "their own way" they tend to be sheep and follow "the herd" much like today's society, no one has individualism anymore, or ever did at that to be honest. There are a few, but not many...

14)If you had to do something positive or negative in this world to change it, what would that be?
If I could change it, I guess I'd make it a Utopian Socialist world, but it'd never work in reality, only in theory. Too many people would abuse the power given to them. I'm more of an individualist but I think Socialism works great in theory, but no one will want to follow, well to be honest they shouldn't have to follow anything but themselves, but that's were the problem lies......

15)I really enjoyed this interview, any last words??? to fans, peers, and family/friends & fellow bands out there???

Thank you to all who support me and may you one day find your own "enlightenment".

Thanks for your time brother!!!
